What Markdown syntax is supported?

The converter supports headings (H1–H6), bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, fenced code blocks with language class attributes, blockquotes, unordered and ordered lists, GFM-style pipe tables, horizontal rules (---), images, and hyperlinks. Nested lists are not yet supported.

What is the difference between copying the HTML and downloading it?

Copying gives you the HTML fragment — just the content tags without a surrounding document structure. Downloading gives you a complete standalone HTML file with a DOCTYPE, head section, meta tags, and inline CSS styling for headings, code blocks, tables, and blockquotes.

Is the conversion done on a server?

No. All conversion happens entirely in your browser using a built-in JavaScript parser. Your text never leaves your device, making it safe to use with private or sensitive content.

Can I use the output in a CMS like WordPress or Ghost?

Yes. Copy the HTML fragment and paste it into your CMS's HTML editor or code block. The output uses standard HTML5 tags that are compatible with virtually all content management systems.

Does it support GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM) tables?

Yes. Pipe tables (| Col1 | Col2 |) are fully supported, including the separator row with alignment colons. The output is a proper <table> element with <thead> and <tbody> sections.

Why are code blocks given a language class?

When you write a fenced code block with a language hint (e.g., ```javascript), the converter adds a class="language-javascript" attribute to the <code> element. This allows syntax highlighting libraries like Prism.js or highlight.js to colorize the code automatically.
