关于Markdown Table Generator
The Markdown Table Generator makes it effortless to create properly formatted GFM (GitHub Flavored Markdown) tables without hand-typing pipe characters and separator rows. Markdown tables are widely supported in GitHub READMEs, Notion, Obsidian, GitLab, Confluence, documentation sites, and many static site generators. The tool provides a visual spreadsheet-style editor: click cells to enter data, click alignment buttons to cycle between left, center, and right alignment per column, and use the +/- buttons to dynamically add or remove rows and columns. The corresponding Markdown syntax is generated in real time, with proper column-width padding for readability. Whether you are documenting an API, building a comparison chart, or writing technical documentation, this generator saves time and eliminates formatting errors. Copy the result with one click and paste it directly into any Markdown-aware editor.
如何使用Markdown Table Generator
- Use the "+ Column" and "+ Row" buttons to set up your table dimensions, or start with the default 3×3 grid.
- Click cells in the top row (shown in purple) to enter header names for each column.
- Fill in the data rows below the header — click any cell and type your content.
- Click the alignment button above each column header to cycle through Left, Center, and Right alignment.
- The Markdown output at the bottom of the page updates in real time with proper formatting.
- Click the Copy button to copy the Markdown table syntax, then paste it into your README, wiki, or documentation file.
常见问题
What Markdown table format does this tool generate?
The tool generates GFM (GitHub Flavored Markdown) pipe tables — the most widely supported Markdown table format. It uses | as column separators, a separator row with dashes for the header boundary, and : characters to indicate column alignment.
Where can I use Markdown tables?
Markdown tables work in GitHub and GitLab READMEs, Notion pages, Obsidian notes, Confluence Markdown blocks, Jekyll and Hugo static sites, VS Code Markdown preview, and many other tools that support GFM or CommonMark extensions.
How do I set column alignment?
Click the alignment button at the top of each column to cycle through Left (default), Center, and Right. The separator row in the output will use colons — :--- for left, :---: for center, and ---: for right — to indicate the alignment.
Can I copy the table back and edit it?
Currently the editor is grid-based rather than raw text input. If you need to edit an existing Markdown table, paste the content into the cells manually. A future version may support importing existing Markdown table syntax.
Is there a limit on the number of rows and columns?
There is no hard limit enforced by the tool. However, very wide tables may not render well on narrow screens or in certain Markdown viewers. For large datasets, consider splitting into multiple tables or using a different format.
